MIDDLE-CLASS KITCHEN
The Koper middle-class kitchen is part of the Mediterranean cultural environment. Its central place is the hearth covered with a pyramidal hood embellished with late 15th century incised Gothic frame, once a component part of the hearth in this very building.
The exhibited articles that were used for the preparation and eating of food are dated partially to the 18th century, but mostly to the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century. They belong to different cultures and speak of trade contacts with the neighbouring cities, i.e. Trieste and Venice, as well as with craftsmen from the Friuli and Veneto regions.
