Well visible on Tonocov Grad are also the trenches and shelters during World War I. and World War II.

5. A track from Tonocov Grad hill which had already been used by aboriginal settlers on the hill, and partly completed by Italian soldiers during World War I, leads to the Soča.
The Italian Army made three lines of defense in the Soča region during World War I. One section of the third line of defense ran along the right and the left banks of the Soča. The Kobarid Historical Walk leads us through trenches, fortifications and buildings which served for defending the pass across the soča and the roads on the right bank of the river.
