Ribnica Waterfalls

Bohinj Lake (Bohinjsko jezero) and its countryside are a great destination for people who like unspoiled nature. High mountains and clean fresh lake water are a unique treasure of Slovenia.

There are numerous waterfalls and gorges in the area. One of the less known are the waterfalls of Ribnica. Only a few kilometres north-east of the lake are two main waterfalls and the terrific gorge of Ribnica.

ACCESS:

Access to the waterfalls is easy. A fine path leads to them from Srednja vas. However, the upper gorge of Ribnica is dangerous and not recommended for a casual visit. It is suitable only for well-prepared hikers.

Safety Note: A helmet is required for visiting the gorge due to the risk of falling rocks from the steep canyon walls.
