Vrbsko jezero (Wörthersee) is the largest Carinthian lake. The lake is situated 2 km western from Klagenfurt (Celovec). It spans approximately 19.5 km in length in the east-west direction and is about 1 km wide.
The total surface area of the lake is 19.7 km2, reaching its deepest point at 85 m. The most beautiful panoramic vista overlooking the lake can be experienced from the Konj rising (Horse) at Pyramidenkogel. A major tourist attraction and a notable historical site situated on the lake is Otok (Maria Wörth).
