Cerkno is important Slovenian ski-centre. 15 km of fine ski slopes are always covered with the snow in winter time. Mountains around the town are great for hiking and gorges are still keeping "not discovered yet" treasures of nature. Rich ethnographic tradition is still present. Carnival from Cerkno (cerkljanska laufarija) is known and popular. One of the "must see" destinations is a museum-partisan hospital "Franja" from the Second World War.
