Spodnja Idrija

South of the confluence of the Idrijca and Kanomljica lies Spodnja Idrija. The settlement has a long history and is almost 300 years older than only 4 km south of Idrija. In Spodnja Idrija is Kend's mansion, which was built in 1377. The manor, which once housed the owners of large surrounding estates, has now been converted into a high-class hotel. Above the place stands at a panoramic point the Church of the Assumption, which is probably the oldest known sacral building in the area.
