Virtualni muzej Jožeta Plečnika :: VIRTUAL MUSEUM

Plečnik's renovation of Križanke (1952-1956). Križanke were named after the German Knights Order of the Crosses. Sometimes their monastery and church were here. Originally, there was a church from the 13th century, which, however, was built in 1714 according to the plans of the Venetian architect Domenica Rossi. The monastery was built in 1579. The design of the former monastery was planned by Jože Plečnik at the age of 80. For its purpose, he suggested that the location be reorganized into the event space. During the renovation, Plečnik used old plastics and portals from demolished Ljubljana buildings.
