Jakopič's promenade

Jakopič's promenade is Plečnik's urban development of Ljubljana's Tivoli Park. The promenade runs from Tivoli Castle in the west to the subway under the railway line in the east towards the city center. Plečnik arranged the promenade as a 25 m wide sandy path with twenty-three centrally placed concrete supports for lamps and benches along the sides, and expanded the promenade with an avenue. In 2009, as a work by Plečnik, the promenade was proclaimed a cultural monument of national importance.
