Zelške jame is a subterranean cave system on the area of the Regional park of Notranjska with the entrance in the pocket valley of Rakov Škocjan. Dolines with the water flow of Rak River are already part of collapsed part of the caves. The most picturesque doline is with the natural stone bridge – Little bridge or Mali most. Rak River flows out from the Zelške jame and is getting water from the Cerknica polje via the cave system Karlovica which is hydrologicaly connected to Zelške jame. Rak river is part of Ljubljanica River basin and flows 1,776 m trough the Rakov Škocjan to the another natural bridge – Big bridge or Veliki most and forward into the blind valley before the Tkalca cave and continues subterranean flow to Planinska jama cave system where is the confluence with the Pivka river and gets the name Unica River. The cave system of Zelške jame is 4,742 m long and with the depth of 45 m.
